KIEV, August 17 - RAPSI. Former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has appealed to the court and called upon Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller to testify in Yulia Tymoshenkos gas case, RIA Novosti reports from the courtroom.

According to Yushchenko, it will be impossible to learn the truth without speaking with Russian officials.

The Kiev Pechersky District Court has been hearing the case against Yulia Tymoshenko since late June.
Tymoshenko faces charges of abuse of power in connection with her approval of a Russian gas contract in 2009 when she served as prime minister.
