MOSCOW, August 29 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court upheld on Monday investigators decision to not provide Sergei Magnitsky's tissue samples to his mother for an independent forensic examination, attorney Nikolai Gorokhov told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI).
"The Moscow City Court has upheld the district courts ruling upholding the denial of forensic material to my client," said Gorokhov.
The district court ruling has now entered into legal force.
Lawyer Sergei Magnitsky, 37, was accused of corporate tax evasion, and died in a Moscow pre-trial detention center in November 2009 of cardio-vascular collapse, the Prosecutor General's Office stated. The criminal case against him was terminated due to his death, but later resumed by the Prosecutor General's Office.
