MOSCOW, August 30 - RAPSI. A Moscow Region court has fined the founder of a construction company, Sergei Gladchenko, 250,000 rubles ($9,000) for evading 38 million ruble ($1.4 million) in taxes, the regional prosecutors office reported on Tuesday without specifying the date the fine was imposed.

Investigators maintain that Gladchenko, who was the director of finance and business for the company "Granit-1," evaded corporate taxes from January 2004 until December 2006. He falsified tax returns, causing a total loss of 38 million rubles to the state, according to the prosecutors office .

The court fined Gladchenko 250,000 rubles, after taking into account mitigating circumstances.
