PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, August 31 - RAPSI. The prosecutors office has submitted to the court a criminal case against a ship captain for illegally catching 60 tons of fish, the prosecutors office of Kamchatka Territory told RIA Novosti.

Authorities maintain that the ships crew illegally caught 60 tons of Alaska pollock and European plaice near the Kamchatka shoreline in July.

Kamchatresurs, which owns the vessel, will have to compensate the state for the losses incurred by the poaching. The losses are estimated at 610,000 rubles (approximately $21,090).

The suspect fully admitted his guilt and filed a request to have his case heard in a special, expedited procedure.
