ST. PETERSBURG, September 15 - RAPSI. An appeals court ordered on September 14 the world's leading combat ship manufacturer to pay $10.8 million in an intellectual property lawsuit, the court reported.
The Russian Severnaya Verf shipbuilder appealed the Moscow Commercial Court's June 21 decision to award a state enterprise 201.71 million rubles ($6.9 millions) in a lawsuit filed by the intellectual property watchdog against the shipbuilder.
The debt stemmed from a license agreement signed between the state enterprise and Severnaya Verf on June 2, 2006. The shipbuilder purchased the right to apply intellectual property under the agreement. Meanwhile, it failed to pay royalties by December 27, 2007.
Severnaya Verf is the worlds leading shipbuilder manufacturing combat ships and commercial vessels.
