MOSCOW, September 19 - RAPSI, Diana Gutsul. A Moscow court will hear on October 3 the case of former Eldorado accountant Mikhail Advena, who is accused of evading taxes to the tune of $14.86 million, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) reports from the court.
Eldorado is Russia's largest chain selling household appliances and electronic devices, the company's website says.
In July 2009, the Prosecutor General's Office filed a request with Interpol's Russian National Central Bureau to place former Eldorado head Alexander Shifrin on its wanted list. Shifrin was also accused of tax evasion.
Advena did not plead guilty at Monday's preliminary hearings.
Investigators believe Advena entered false information on tax returns. Advena has been accused of large-scale tax evasion, which is punishable by up to six years in prison.
