MOSCOW, October 6 - RAPSI, Natalia Belova. An appeals court will hear on November 2 AiStream's appeal against the court's dismissal of its $18.4 million lawsuit against the State Radio Frequency Commission and the Communications and Mass Media Ministry, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI).
AiStream is engaged in aggregating news for mobile phones.
The Moscow Commercial Court on August 17 held against AiStream and Delta-line in their lawsuits. The companies sought compensation for the defendants' failure to process applications for radio-frequency bands for BreezeMAX 2300, EFline 2300, and Nortel BTS 5020 mobile radio systems to be used in a number of Russian regions. The companies also demanded radio-frequency bands and 300 million rubles ($9.2 million) from each defendant in compensation.
The companies also sought to recover 300 million rubles from each defendant.
The defendants said neither the claimants' rights nor their legal interests were violated, adding that the applications were not considered as the companies missed the filing deadline.
The court held against the claimants, specifying that the commission was not obliged to inform the companies about the application progress.
