VELIKY NOVGOROD, December 1 - RAPSI. Pfleiderer plant has filed a lawsuit with a Novgorod district court to assert its right to discharge chemicals into the atmosphere, plant's PR officer Vitaly Trukhov told RIA Novosti on Thursday.
The Novgorod Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit against Pfleiderer and the environmental watchdog to cancel the permit to discharge pollutants into the atmosphere and pollutant emissions.
Pfleiderer considers the lawsuit illegal and unfounded.
The court started hearing the case in late November. The court did not specify when it would pass the judgment in the case.
Pfleiderer AG was founded in Germany in 1894. It is a leading global engineered wood, surface finished products and laminate flooring manufacturer. The company operates 23 plants in Europe and North America. It launched its first Russian production enterprise near Veliky Novgorod in September 2006. The company processes waste wood.
