MOSCOW, December 8 - RAPSI, Irina Tumilovich. A district court has remanded to the prosecutor's office a criminal case against a married couple accused of unlawfully distributing films and cartoons, which resulted in over $1.2 billion in damages to Russian and foreign TV companies, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).
The court has remanded the case for review.
Andrey and Natalia Lopukhov have been charged with breaching copyright and allied rights.
Investigators have established that between April 2007 and September 2008, the Lopukhovs, in collusion with a man named "Sergei" in Germany, unlawfully distributed through interfilm.ru and puzkarapuz.ru over 30 films and cartoons.
