MOSCOW, December 21 - RAPSI. Renowned whistleblower, blogger and lawyer Alexei Navalny has been released after spending 15 days under administrative arrest for disobeying police during an opposition rally in Moscow, Vadim Kobzev, Navalny's attorney told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Wednesday.

According to Kobzev, Navalny has been greeted by dozens of journalists and opposition activists, that's why he was unable to talk with his client.

Navalny was detained on December 5 during an unauthorized procession in Moscow. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail for disobeying the police.

The police detained over 300 people in Moscow for participating in unauthorized rallies on Monday night following the parliamentary elections. The protesters contested the election results, in which the ruling United Russia party received the majority of votes.
