MOSCOW, December 26 - RAPSI, Natalia Belova. A federal commercial court registered on Monday a gas company's appeal against the dismissal of its claim to Gazprom and its registrar SR-DRAGA for recovering over $323 million for the unlawful sale of Gazprom shares in 2000, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) reports from the courtroom
The court has yet to schedule appeal haring date.
SR-DRAGA is the registrar of Gazprom shares.
Fifty million shares in Gazprom -- about 0.2 percent of its charter capital owned by Rosgazifikatsiya -- were transferred to the Depositary-Settlement Union in 2000 for nominal holding and then auctioned.
The plaintiff maintains that Rosgazifikatsiyas management had been unaware of the transaction.
The plaintiff initially sought damages equal to the value of 50 million Gazprom shares, but later decreased the requested amount from 14 to 10.1 billion rubles ($323 million) at a July 27 hearing.
