MOSCOW, January 24 - RAPSI. Supreme Commercial Court experts and lawyers have discussed pledge legislation reforms at an international workshop on Tuesday. The Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) was among the workshop's information sponsors.

Spiros Bazinas, a global expert and a UNCITRAL working group secretary, delivered a report on three key issues of the reforms - a mandatory pledge agreement minimum, the possibility to describe the subject of the pledge in terms of its generic features, and creating a pledge from a pledge notice registration.

The chairperson of the court's second panel, Alexandra Makovskaya, thanked Bazinas and noted the importance of such informal meetings between lawyers, judges and bankers. The head of the court's staff, Andrey Yegorov, told the participants about the upcoming twentieth anniversary of Russian commercial courts and presented Bazinas with an English version of the Russian Civil Code.
