MOSCOW, January 27 - RAPSI. The Federal Migration Service (FMS) has specified that it suggested toughening punishment for organizing illegal migration up to 10 years in prison.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin proposed at the FMS board meeting on Thursday to prosecute those who hire migrants without work permits and provide all kinds of hostels and flophouses for guest workers.
According to the FMS there are about 9.2 million foreigners in Russia now, of which roughly four million have registered as immigrants but still work illegally.
