MOSCOW, February 14 - RAPSI. Montserrat Trading Limited, which is related to the Rusal aluminum producer, will gain control over the Yaroslavl Mining Company. The antimonopoly watchdog upheld the acquisition.
Montserrat Trading will acquire a 50-percent stake in the Cypriot-based Krippl Krik Limited - the Yaroslavl Mining Companys founder, which is affiliated with Russian Mining Company.
The Yaroslavl Mining Company is the sole fluorspar concentrate producer and supplier in Russia. It owns licenses for Pogranichnoe and Vosnesenskoye fluorspar deposits. The company annually produces and processes over 600,000 tonnes of ore.
Following the acquisition, Rusal will obtain 100 percent of the shares in the Yaroslavl Mining Company. The parties have not disclosed the acquisition sum.
Rusal is a leading global aluminium producer. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of the world's aluminum production.
