MOSCOW, February 20 - RAPSI. Moscow courts have satisfied 30 percent of the lawsuits on violations committed during the State Duma and local government elections, Moscow City Court Chairperson Olga Yegorova told journalists on Monday.
According to Yegorova, the courts received over 100 cases regarding the December 4 elections and considered all of them within the established five-day period.
"The courts upheld 30 percent of the lawsuits, most of which concerned elections to local self-government bodies. We have reinstated the candidates deleted from the lists," she said, adding that one election center was ordered to recalculate the votes.
Yegorova noted that the courts are prepared for possible trials after the upcoming presidential elections.
"If a person comes to the election center and does not find his or her name on the list, the court will consider the complaint on the same day and, if it is valid, the voter will be given the opportunity to vote," she said.
