MOSCOW, February 21 - RAPSI. The Supreme Commercial Court will not reconsider its decision to dismiss ЕАА Asset Management-Consulting Ltd.'s (BVI) request. The company demanded from Russia's search engine Yandex to remove content.
ЕАА Asset Management-Consulting sought to revise lower-court judgments under supervisory procedure.
The plaintiff maintains that Yandex is guilty of distributing information defaming ЕАА Asset Management-Consulting. The company demanded that Yandex stop searching for information posted on Compromat.Ru and Rospres.Com domains.
Yandex argued that a company cannot be requested to protect an organization's business reputation by banning information search.
The Moscow Commercial Court dropped in August 2011 its proceedings in EAA Asset Management-Consulting's lawsuit against Yandex to collect 100 million rubles ($3.4 million) in damages.
The proceedings was stopped upon the plaintiff's request as "the defendant performed its obligations on a voluntary basis after the plaintiff went to court for protection and the lawsuit was accepted."
The court has received several more lawsuits from EAA Asset Management-Consulting against Yandex.
EAA Asset Management-Consulting belongs to Russian businessman Mikhail Dvornikov.
