ST. PETERSBURG, March 7 - RAPSI. The courts heard on Tuesday all cases of the unauthorized rally participants detained in central St. Petersburg on Monday, most of them have been released, RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday.
More than 800 people gathered on Isaakiyevskaya Square for an unauthorized rally in protest against the outcome of the presidential elections.
According to the police 280 participants were detained.
"Most judgments were to issue warnings," a police officer said.
He added that 15 persons were fined, 32 cases were put off until March 21.
The protest rally came less than 24 hours after a landslide victory for Vladimir Putin had secured him a third presidential term.
