MOSCOW, March 15 - RAPSI. Law enforcement authorities have arrested Mairbek Umayev, a Chechen charged with murdering well-known Chechen poet and public figure Ruslan Akhtakhanov, the Kommersant newspaper reports on Thursday.
Akhtakhanov was killed in Moscow in November.
The Savyolovsky District Court in Moscow issued the arrest warrant for the suspect who earlier acted as a witness in the case.
Umayev was arrested on March 9 for two months, the court said.
He has admitted to the murder alleging that Akhtakhanov misappropriated money of a fund collected from Chechen businessmen for Chechnya's rehabilitation.
