MOSCOW, March 15 - RAPSI. The Tverskoy Magistrates Court in Moscow fined on Thursday opposition leader Alexei Navalny about $34 for breaching rally regulations on Pushkin Square on March 5.
Navalny was declared in breach of the established rally procedure, which is punishable by up to 2,000 rubles ($68).
About 250 people were detained after opposition rallies against the results of the presidential elections on the Pushkin and Lubyanskaya squares. All the detainees were taken to a police station to document their violations and decide on their administrative liability.
The opposition rally on Pushkin Square turned into an unauthorized procession. The police then detained the protest participants, including Navalny and Left Front leader Sergei Udaltsov.
