MOSCOW, March 20 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court confirmed the lawfulness of the dismissal to register the People's Freedom Party.
Therefore, the court dismissed the complaint by the party leaders against the decision of the Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court which refused to revoke the Justice Ministry's corresponding decision.
The party leaders were disputing the courts order to uphold the Justice Ministry's decision which refused to register the party.
The Justice Ministry refused to re-register the party, citing that its charter "contains provisions contradicting the law on political parties and other federal laws." It was also revealed that the charter does not stipulate the rotation of the party management.
The Justice Ministry also reported that it receives applications by citizens denying membership in the party or participation in general meetings. Additionally, it was established that no meetings of regional departments were held in a number of cities as reported in the protocols submitted by the party.
Opposition leaders Boris Nemtsov, Vladimir Milov, Vladimir Ryzhkov and Mikhail Kasyanov announced the partys establishment in 2010.
