MOSCOW, March 20 - RAPSI. The Moscow's Savelovsky District Court held for the defamation lawsuit filed by News Media owner Aram Gabrelyanov against MP Oleg Mikheyev. The court awarded the plaintiff $1,200 in moral damages.

The court also ordered Mikheyev and REN TV channel, a co-defendant in the case, to formally refute the information about Gabrelyanov.

Gabrelyanov sued the MP following a TV show broadcast on REN TV in August 2011. Both the plaintiff and the defendant participated in the show.

Mikheyev then made several statements which the court later declared false and insulting to Gabrelyanov.

The lawsuit was a follow up to the scandal related to photos published in media showing Mikheyev attired in the military uniform of Nazi Admiral Wilhelm Franz Canaris.
