MOSCOW, March 30 - RAPSI. Law enforcement authorities uncovered 23 branches of international terrorist structures and 20 dangerous radical organizations in Russia in 2011, Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev said on Friday.
In 2011, law enforcement authorities stopped over 20 dangerous radical groups and over 23 branches of international terrorist organizations, which committed grave national, racial and religious crimes, including ruthless and cynical murders, Nurgaliyev said during the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Countering Extremism.
He also said that the Supreme Court stopped activities of 28 extremist organizations and is presently about to declare extremist more of them.
Nurgaliyev noted that the common efforts of the Interior Ministry, the Federal Security Service, investigative authorities and prosecutor's office significantly contributed to the decrease in extremist and terror crimes in 2011.
