MOSCOW, April 11 - RIA Novosti. The Moscow Commercial Court has held for Microsoft in its claim and acknowledged its right to use the Windows trademark on the windows.ru domain.

The court allowed Microsoft to use the domain for geographic and geodetic equipment, cash registers and CD disks. Meanwhile, the court prohibited Russian businessman Dmitry Shapovalov, who owns the domain, to use Windows trademark in the domain name for these goods.

Microsoft told the court that the defendant violates its exclusive right to the trademark.

Shapovalov's website contained information about aircrafts, avionics and other machinery that apply the Windows trademark. However, the trademark for the mentioned goods was earlier registered by Microsoft.

Microsoft is the world's leading software manufacturer. Its market value was estimated at $224.9 billion as of mid-November.
