ST. PETERSBURG, April 18 - RAPSI. The Thirteenth Commercial Court of Appeals will hear on May 28 the antimonopoly watchdog's appeal against the lower-court decision canceling its fine against TGC-1.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service disputes the St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Commercial Court's decision satisfying TGC-1s lawsuit to invalidate and reverse the court ruling dated October 25, 2011.
Pursuant to the watchdog's materials, the company was fined 300,000 rubles ($10,166) for violating its order issued in late 2009. The order was issued during the satisfaction of Gazprom Energoholding's application to acquire over 50 percent of shares in TGC-1.
Based on the order, Gazprom Energoholding should have fulfilled a number of requirements on price bids. Specifically, it was ordered not to make bids based solely on expenses from production of electricity for which more expensive fuel was used.
TGC-1 comprises 55 power plants in St. Petersburg, the Karelian Republic and the Leningrad and Murmansk Regions. Its aggregate electric power capacity is 6,315 MWt, with a thermal capacity of 14,362 Gcal/h. Hydropower generation accounts for 46 percent.
