MOSCOW, May 21 - RAPSI. Gazprombank First Vice President Alexander Shmidt has filed a motion with the Investigative Committee to prosecute blogger Svetlana Robenkova for disseminating information about an alleged car accident involving his vehicle.
Shmidt published a copy of the motion on his blog.
Robenkova wrote that Shmidt and his driver left a child and his mother suffering on the road and fled the scene. The boy was hospitalized with a ruptured kidney and a hematoma, she said. The blogger urged the public to "resist lawlessness" and asked them to spread the video.
Shmidt denied the claims. He said the child "fell because he was afraid of the car, and it did not run into him."
Shmidt asked the investigative authorities to examine Robenkova's article, as he believes that it aims to incite hatred toward top managers at large Russian companies.
Shmidt added that the blogger failed to submit any credible evidence to prove the allegations.
