KIEV, May 30 - RAPSI. Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is a witness in the murder of renowned businessman Yevgeny Scherban in 1996, Prosecutor General Viktor Scherban has said.

However, investigators have uncovered new evidence in the case, he added.

Media have reported that the prosecutor's office is waiting for Tymoshenko's health to improve before it brings new charges against her in Scherban's murder.

Tymoshenko is already serving prison time for her conviction in the notorious gas case.

Head of the Aton financial corporation and MP, Scherban was shot dead along with his wife and airport staff at a Donetsk airport in 1996.
