BISHKEK, June 18 – RAPSI. Former Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva's son Atay Sadybasakov will sue the Ata-Zhurt opposition party leader for slander. Sadybasakov distributed the application on Monday.
Last week, Kamchibek Tashiyev accused Sadybasakov of embezzling $2 million from the Kyrgyz Alpha TeleCom mobile provider, which was nationalized by Otunbayeva's interim government after former President Kurmanbek Bakiyev's overthrow in 2010.
“Tashiyev openly spoke about my supposed involvement in the embezzlement,” Sadybasakov said. “The deputy said I am the beneficial owner of funds embezzled from Alpha TeleCom. He said there is $2 million on my account in a European country. I am determined to file a lawsuit against his unfounded statements.”
