MOSCOW, July 3 - RAPSI. Seven Russian football fans are still under arrest in Poland after the June 12 fighting, All-Russia Fans Association President Alexander Shprygin said.
The Russian Embassy in Poland asked the Warsaw Court of Appeals to expedite its review of the cases against Russian football fans for taking part in riots during the UEFA Euro 2012.
The fighting broke out as Russia faced off against Poland in the Euro 2012 games.
The two teams' fans clashed.
Earlier, three Russians appealed their sentences handed down by Polish courts.
They were sentenced to one, two and three months in prison for taking part in the riots. The appeal of only one of those convicted men will be heard on July 10, the embassy said.
Another four Russians are waiting for their trial in an investigative isolation ward. The court has extended their custody giving investigators more time to gather evidence.
One of the arrested individuals needs medical assistance. He suffers from diabetes and requires daily shots of insulin.
