ARKHANGELSK, July 16 - RAPSI. The Arkhangelsk Regional District Court will hear on August 7 former Menatep head Platon Lebedev's duplicate application to mitigate his punishment. "The attorneys application to protect Platon Lebedev's interests has been set for consideration by a district court on August 7," the court told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the court returned the attorneys' appeals, citing the absence of a number of documents - particularly, the sentence issued by the Moscow Meshchansky District Court.
In late 2010, the court sentenced former YUKOS chief Mikhail Khodorkovsky and his partner Lebedev to 14 years in prison. They were expected to be released in 2017, taking into account the time they had already served for their previous convictions from their first trial in 2005. However, later the sentence was contested and the court shortened their prison term by one year.
