MOSCOW, July 18 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court will hear the appeal against the extension of the arrest of State Atomic Energy Corporation former deputy head Evgeny Evstratov on July 19, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency on Wednesday.
Evgeny Evstratov is charged with misappropriating $1.5 million. His arrest was extended until August 27.
Investigators maintain that Evstratov acted in collusion with several directors responsible for nuclear power engineering at federal enterprises. Evstratov had three accomplices, one of whom agreed to cooperate with the investigation and was released on his own recognizance.
The case has been under investigation since mid 2010. Evstratov was interrogated on several occasions as a witness. He said this was the reason why he quit Rosatom in April 2011.
