MOSCOW, August 1 - RAPSI. The UK will allow Russian investigators to interrogate former executives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London under their investigation into one-time Russian EBRD board representative Elena Kotova, Investigative Department spokesperson Anjela Kastuyeva told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.
"The Interior Ministry has received a confirmation that Russian investigators will be allowed to interrogate current and former EBRD executives - in particular, Russia's former representative on the EBRD board Elena Kotova," she said.
News surfaced in February 2011 that a case had been opened against Kotova.
She is suspected of attempted commercial bribery. Previously, the EBRD deprived of their diplomatic immunity Kotova and four other Russians seconded to the bank by the government. They are presently under an investigation conducted by the UK and Russian law enforcement authorities on suspicion of corrupt practices.
