MOSCOW, August 3 - RAPSI. The Moscow Commercial Court has adjourned until August 9 UniversStroyLux' lawsuit to recover $18.88 million from the Moscow government.
The company seeks compensation for building a palace in the Kolomenskoye conservation park.
The court has adjourned the case after receiving a request by the parties, which asked for more time to finalize the amicable agreement.
The company sought to collect the payment due according to a 2009 palace renovation contract. On September 14, the court ordered the Moscow government to pay the developer 548 million rubles ($16.88 million) in unjust enrichment, but denied its request for 22.23 million rubles ($684,817) in interest. The judgment came into force in November.
The claimant maintains that the Moscow government did not pay for the project in full, as the plans were occasionally revised due to the project's unique character.
The developer also said the property had been commissioned and is now open to the public and run by the park. Meanwhile, the Moscow government said the project cost was fixed.
UniversStroyLux is a Moscow-based design, construction and renovation company.
The palace of Tsar Alexis I was a masterpiece of wooden architecture built in the 17th century. It was ultimately dismantled, but the blueprints survived and were later used to restore the property.
