MOSCOW, August 13 - RAPSI, Diana Gutsul. The defense of the Pussy Riot punk rock band members is not worried about its clients' children and is not putting them under anybody's guardianship, attorneys Mark Feygin and Nikolai Polozov told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Monday. However, it is ready to do so if necessary.

The group has been accused of disorderly conduct at the Christ the Savior Cathedral.

On Monday, the media reported that the defense of group members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina is putting their children under guardianship.

"In an interview, we considered the situation that occurred in the spring," Feygin told RAPSI. "There was a risk at the time that Pyotr Verzilov, Tolokonnikova's husband, might be arrested. In March, we started gathering the required documents to officially put the children under guardinship quickly if necessary. The situation with Alyokhina is different. Her marriage has not been officially registered. And the police officers frequently threatened to deprive her of her rights. We quickly started gathering the required documents. But all of this has past." Polozov confirmed that the defendants do not believe their children are under threat.

"If there are any threats - for instance, if they get three years in prison - we have got all of the necessary documents and we will put the children under guardianship," Feygin said.
