MOSCOW, October 18 - RAPSI. Over 500 Russian-language terrorist and extremist websites are active in foreign Internet domains, said Lt. Gen. Evgeny Ilyin, deputy head of the National Antiterrorist Committee's staff.
"There are well-known and new terrorist and extremist websites on the Internet in domains which are not subject to Russian jurisdiction. There are over 7000 websites of this kind. Of these, around 500 are Russian-language websites," said Ilyin during a research-to-practice conference on combating terrorism.
Ilyin believes that the Internet poses as the most serious threat in promoting terrorist and extremist ideology.
