MOSCOW, Oct 19 - RAPSI. Investigators have asked the Basmanny District Court in Moscow to issue an arrest warrant for the eighteenth suspect in the Bolotnaya Square riots case, Yekaterina Korotova, the court's press secretary, told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Friday.
The court will hear the request soon. Sergei Krivov, the latest suspect in the case, has already been detained and delivered to the court.
Investigative Committee official representative Vladimir Markin has reported that Krivov was detained on Thursday. He added that investigators determined that Krivov grabbed a police officer from the crowd and attacked him when the rioters broke through a police barrier.
Markin added that the investigation has interviewed the victims and eyewitnesses, and also studied a video that corroborates the allegations.
Krivov has been charged with taking part in public riots and assaulting a police officer. The offense is punishable by up to eight years in prison.
