MOSCOW, October 29 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court has dismissed retired Main Intelligence Directorate Colonel Vladimir Kvachkov's appeal of a limitation of the term for his examination of case materials, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) Monday.
In so holding, the court upheld the Moscow Lefortovsky District Court's ruling.
Kvachkov was charged with aiding and abetting terrorism and attempted mutiny just one day after having been acquitted by the Supreme Court on December 22, 2010 on charges of organizing the attempted assassination of former United Energy System head Anatoly Chubais.
The charges currently pending against him carry a maximum 20-year prison sentence.
Kvachkov has denied the charges. His lawyers believe the charges against him are unfounded.
Kvachkov said he has been accused of preparing recruits from his People's Liberation Front of Russia armed with crossbows to carry out a coup.
