MOSCOW, December 13 - RAPSI. More than 150 police officers have been brought to liability for violations in weapons trafficking after an inspection carried out by the Prosecutor General's Office, the office reported on Thursday.
The inspection revealed numerous breaches of the law on weapon trafficking and private security guard activities. Based on these results, a report on rectifying the violations was submitted to the Interior Minister.
In particular, it was found that during checks of private security guard activity, law enforcement authorities often failed to fulfill legal requirements on state control, violated the rights of entrepreneurs, or illegally refused to issue identity cards to security guards.
"Following the consideration of the report, 150 officials were brought to disciplinary liability, including 30 heads at various levels. Checks on police officers are still ongoing in a number of regions," the press release reads.
Recently, the Interior Minister received a report after violations were uncovered in the proceedings of administrative cases. 530 police officers were subsequently brought to disciplinary liability.
