MOSCOW, April 26 (RAPSI) - The Moscow Commercial Court has upheld the decision of the Federal Migration Service to fine McDonald's for hiring a woman from Kyrgyzstan who did not have a permit to work in Russia, the court spokesperson told RAPSI on Friday.
On Jan. 22, the Federal Migration Service's Moscow Department inspected the fast food chain for compliance with migration law.
The inspectors uncovered that the chain hired a woman from Kyrgyzstan who did not have a work permit and imposed an administrative fine on the company. According to Articles 13 and 13.1 of the federal law on the legal status of foreign nationals in Russia, employers are only allowed to hire foreigners who have work permits.
The court rejected the company's arguments that the woman showed documents under a different name when she applied for the job.
