MOSCOW, August 7 (RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin) - The Intellectual Property Court will consider on November 11 a lawsuit filed by Delta Pro, the Krasnoyarsk spice company, against Valio Ltd, the biggest milk processor in Finland, the court told RAPSI on Wednesday.
Delta Pro asks the court to prohibit Finland's company from using the Valio Demi trademark. The Russian company produces spice and kissels under such trademarks as Demi and Five cooks.
The court has attracted Rospatent (the Federal Service for Intellectual Property) as the third party to the case.
Valio Ltd is one of the biggest companies in Finland and mostly produces dairy products such as cheese, powdered ingredients, butter, yogurt and milk. Valio is Finland's biggest milk processor, producing 86% of Finland's milk. Valio subsidiaries operate in the USA, Russia, Sweden, Belgium, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
The Intellectual Property Court was established in April to hear intellectual property cases both as a court of first instance and as a supreme court of appeals. It started working on July 3.
