BEIJING, September 20 (RIA Novosti) – Hong Kong authorities arrested a Russian woman, who has tried to open an emergency exit in mid-air, the Russian Consulate General said.
The woman, who arrived to Hong Kong on Thursday on a Cathay Pacific flight from Moscow, was held shortly after her plane landed safely in a local airport.
A Consulate General employee told RIA Novosti that she was to appear in court on the same day on charges of violating flight safety rules.
“Most likely, a fine will be imposed on her,” he said.
He did not elaborate on possible reasons behind the woman’s bizarre behavior, but said this was not the first time Russians are arrested in Hong Kong for similar violations.
