MOSCOW, November 29 (RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin) – The Moscow Commercial Court has granted in part a claim filed by Shell Brands International seeking 53 million rubles (up to $1.6 million) in compensation from the Moscow-based Vostok-Logistik LLC for the unauthorized import of Shell products into Russia, RAPSI learned in the court Friday.
Shell requested that the the court ban Vostok-Logistik LLC from using a number of its brands, namely Shell, Shell Omala, Shell Helix, Spirax, Tellus, Gadus, Rimula and Corena without its consent. The initial claim sought 53 million rubles, but the court opted for a significantly lower sum of 5.3 million rubles (up to $160,000).
Noerr lawyer Victor Gerbutov acting for Shell in this case refrained from making any comments. Vostok-Logistik LLC has not yet commented on the issue.
