MOSCOW, December 16 (RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin) - The Moscow Commercial Court has registered three claims from Strabag AG, a major Austrian construction company, requesting the court to declare Russian insurers Ingosstrakh, AIG Insurance and Reinsurance Company and ACE bankrupt, a court spokesperson told RAPSI.

Last November, the Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals ordered the three insurance companies to issue payment in favor of Strabag AG. Ingosstrakh was ordered to pay 72 million rubles in insurance recovery and 15 million rubles of interest for the use of a third party’s funds; AIG was obliged to pay 86 million rubles in insurance recovery and 18 million rubles of interest, while ACE 129 million in insurance recovery and 28 million rubles of interest.

In 2011, Strabag sued the three companies for a total of 922.6 mln rubles because it was unsatisfied with the insurance payout issued in regard to the collapse of the underground car park of the Vivaldi Plaza office and hotel building, not far from the Paveletsky Railway Station in Moscow in September 2009. The building with the underground car park was built by Strabag AG and insured by Ingosstrakh (25%), AIG Insurance and Reinsurance Company (30%) and ACE (45%). The court granted the claim in part. Currently, a cassation appeal has been lodged against the ruling.

RAPSI has not yet been able to reach the parties in the bankruptcy dispute for comments.
