MOSCOW, March 7 (RAPSI) – Russian investigators have filed a request with Interpol to issue a notice for the arrest of Ukrainian nationalist Aleksandr Muzychko (alias Sasha Beliy), Investigative Committee Spokesman Vladimir Markin told reporters Friday.
“Muzychko brutally tortured and killed servicemen of Russian federal forces. He personally tortured and then murdered no less than 20 Russian POWs, demanding the information he needed,” Markin added.
The case was initiated following an investigation of a battle between militants and paratroopers during the Second Chechen War in 2000.
On March 5, Russian investigators placed the leader of ultra-nationalist Ukrainian movement “Right Sector” Dmitry Yarosh on an international wanted list. The international wanted list notification will obligate any state participating in Interpol joint efforts to detain Yarosh and prepare him for extradition to Russia.
