VILNIUS, April 7 (RAPSI) - The Vilnius District Administrative Court upheld a request from the Lithuanian Commission for Radio and Television Broadcasting and authorized suspension of RTR-Planeta (Russia) rebroadcasts in Lithuania for three months, press secretary of the court Sigita Jacinevičienė-Baltaduonė told RIA Novosti.
Last week, the commission unanimously ruled to suspend the broadcasts of RTR-Planeta for three months following a Vesti Nedeli weekly program about the crisis in Crimea, which, according to the commission, incited ethnic discord and encouraged military action.
The press secretary said that the court found the evidence provided by the commission to indicate that the program violated the law on public information.
Earlier, the Vilnius District Administrative Court upheld the commission’s request to suspend broadcasts of NTV Mir, also for three months, after the documentary The Convicted aired on the channel.
