ST. PETERSBURG, July 7 (RAPSI) – After a long public legal battle, Russian football player Andrey Arshavin has reached a settlement with ex-wife Yulia Baranovskaya, RAPSI learnt in a Magistrate's Court of  St. Petersburg.

Arshavin himself told journalists that he will share half of his income in alimony. He showed up  at the court for the first time since proceedings began. “We reached a conclusion with Yulia that we will do our best to take care of our children,” Arshavin said. He declined to disclose the sum of the alimony to be paid to his ex-wife, but said that the sum is “big”.

Arshavin divorced his wife in 2013. They were married for nine years and have three children.

Baranovskaya filed an application for alimony in February 2014. a Magistrate's Court of  St. Petersburg ruled that she is entitled to half of her ex-husband's income. Arshavin appealed against the ruling which was annulled.

Finally, Arshavin reached a settlement with Baranovskaya.
