MOSCOW, October 15 (RAPSI) – Russian Defense Ministry has filed a suit with the Moscow Commercial Court seeking 2.2 billion rubles (about $54 million) from OAO Aviaremont, subsidiary of the state-run Oboronservis holding company, RAPSI learnt in the court on Wednesday.
A pretrial hearing is set for December 2.
The Federal Service for Defense Contracts (Rosoboronzakaz) claimed earlier multiple violations of obligations under government contracts on behalf of OAO Aviaremont.
Yury Stolyarov, head of one of the departments of Rosoboronzakaz, said in May 2013 that AOA Aviaremont owes Defense Ministry up to 115 billion rubles (over $2.8 billion).
Moscow-based OAO Aviaremont, which offers repair and maintenance of aircraft, reportedly controlled 39 enterprises and plants. As a result of a wide-ranging restructuring of Oboronservis it was left with 14 enterprises last summer, Izvestia newspaper reported.
