MOSCOW, November 7 (RAPSI) - A labor court in Frankfurt-am-Main rejected a plea by Deutsche Bahn demanding an end to the ongoing strike by German train operators, Judge Ursula Schmidt told Reuters on Friday.
The judges ruled that the strike does not violate any law and corresponds with its objectives. The strike began last Wednesday and is planned to continue until Monday.
The trade union is requesting improved working conditions for Deutsche Bahn train crews. Specifically, train operators are demanding a 5% raise and two additional 120 euro pay bumps for experience when reaching ages 30 and 35.
The trade union is also requesting a 37-hour work week starting January 1, 2015, guaranteed time off between 10 pm on Fridays and 6 am on Mondays, and the right of the employees to receive interest on the company’s revenue.
