MOSCOW, December 29 (RAPSI) – Moscow's Lefortovsky District Court has extended on Monday the detention of an officer of the Estonian security agency, Eston Kohver, who stands accused of espionage until April 5, 2015, RAPSI learnt in the court.
Kohver was detained on September 5 in the Pskov Region. He had a Taurus handgun, ammunition, 5,000 euros and special equipment to carry out covert recording, according to the Federal Security Service (FSB).
Kohver was allegedly involved in an operation of the Estonian Interior Ministry’s security police.
Lefortovsky District Court in Moscow issued an arrest warrant for Kohver on September 6.
If convicted he faces up to twenty years in prison.
Estonian authorities claim that Kohver was abducted while conducting cross-border investigation.
