MOSCOW, May 22 (RAPSI) – Russian air defense systems manufacturer Almaz-Antey said on Friday that it had filed a complaint with the Luxembourg-based Court of Justice of the European Union against sanctions imposed on it over the crisis in Ukraine.
As part of the complaint against the sanctions, Almaz-Antey has submitted an application to the General Secretariat of the EU Council in Brussels, Belgium, demanding that it review the facts and provide proof or other substantiation as to why Almaz-Antey was included on the sanctions list.
“The Almaz-Antey legal department pointed out that the EU Council’s decision to place the company on the sanctions list violates EU law and standards because there is no reliable evidence or substantiation of the company’s involvement in the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine,” the statement says.
Almaz-Antey was established in 2002 to design and produce air defense and radar equipment. In May 2015, it was renamed the Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern.
