DONETSK, September 15 (RAPSI) - The Donetsk City Court of Russia's Rostov Region has ruled that Ukrainian national Nadezhda Savchenko’s detention be extended by six months, attorney Mark Feigin announced on Tuesday.
“Savchenko will remain under arrest,” he wrote on Twitter.
The court thus upheld the motion by prosecutors. The defense requested that Savchenko be released under the guarantee of a Ukrainian consul or by any other form of restriction not related to detention.
Savchenko has been held at a detention facility through the entire preliminary investigation. Her lawyers have filed several appeals against her arrest. However, the court has repeatedly ruled against it.
